I’ve finally gotten around to returning to the site and have upgraded to version 2.6. Also, I’ve re-tuned the style used. Its based off the previous theme I was using but modified to a simplified version.
Recently I was tasked with getting an installation of Tiger onto an older Mac that did not have a DVD drive. After some searching around I was able to find a quick and easy solution. First off I have an external hard drive that I was planning on using. In order to boot from this (without modifying the current file structure) I repartitioned the drive, creating 7GB partition, enough to house the image. Once this is complete, open up your Disk Utility, select the partition you are looking to make boot-able and choose restore. Once here you can select the source image that you want to boot from, then drag your partition to the destination and click restore. Once it is done restoring the image onto the partition you can go to the System Preferences and go to startup disks. You should now see your external hard drive partition as an option to boot from.
